Joining this one-month ceramics course in Seto was an amazing experience. It gave me the chance to fully immerse myself in Japanese pottery and I’m so grateful I was able to be a part of it.
I am amazed by how much I was able to learn in just a month. From spiral wedging and throwing on the wheel clockwise, in true Japanese style, to crafting my own pottery tools.
Each day started with a small demonstration from Sensei. These daily demos were very inspiring and packed with knowledge and they really helped me build my skills step by step.
The atmosphere in the studio was calm and welcoming. Sensei was patient and generous with his knowledge and his apprentices were always around to offer support and advice.
Beyond the studio, Sensei showed us around the town, took us to a nearby ceramics fair, and even cooked us a delicious homemade meal.
Depending on the season you join it can be a bit cold in the accommodation, so it is good to be prepared.
I highly recommend this course to anyone.
