Program: 24-day Pottery Making in Seto – With Guidance

Message:
The Japanese ceramics program in Seto, at Kitagama Kasen, led by the talented and generous Kasen Sensei, was a transformative time for me.
Those were days of great experiences and a lot of learning, going deeply in the traditional ceramic techniques from the Seto region.
It was a special opportunity to interact with Sensei’s local community, friends, customers from many years, as well as to learn about the culture and history of the region.
Kasen is an extremely gifted and generous master, being always available to teach and share techniques and knowledge.
The assistants were extremely diligent and kind, helping with everything needed.
It was a very inspiring experience, where I was also able to build good friendships with ceramists from different parts of the world.
I hope to return soon to Kitagama Kasen.
I do recommend that ceramists interested in Japanese ceramics do the same.
