I enjoyed it very much and learned a lot.
The studio is comfortable and with a good atmosphere (one can even see the sunset while working on the wheel). The apartment is perfectly placed above the studio so I had limitless access to the studio.

Shibata Sensei and his students welcomed me with such a warm hospitality and made me feel at home. Sensei is a unique artist and a great teacher, very patient and accepting. Even though he doesn’t speak English, with the help of his students everything worked out great.

Although I had spent there only 2 weeks, my technique has improved greatly and so did my underdtanding and experience of japanese pottery.

I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity for such an amazing experience and to meet such wonderful people. Although I’ve travelled in Japan for 2 months before arriving to the studio, it was only in the studio where I found the true Japan.
